Territories Should
Not Get Worried
Our neighbors in Arizona
and New .Mexico need not be
disappointed" and much less
discouraged should congress
at this session fail to pass
bills admitting them to the
union. There remain only
two months of the session and
the members have devilment
enough mapped oat to fully
occupy their attention for six
months. But statehood is
certain to come before Santa
Claus comes around again.

WINDY NARRATIVE
FROM TEXAS
An Imaginative Genius Who Libels
Fair Tombstone's Unsur
passed Climate
FANCIFUL FLIGHT OF A SINGLE NIGHT
from the Panhandle of Texas where
a wind blowing at the rate of twenty
miles an hour is looked upon as a
spring zephyr, and tho owner of a
quarter section ballasts it with rock
to keep it from being blown into the
next county, comes the following story
which goes to show- that atmospheric
conditions affect temperament and
that the inhabitants finally become
as breezy in their imagination as the
air they breathe. Congregated in the
postotfice of the little town of Claire
montrecently, a coterie of plainsmen
who were waiting for the arrival of the
mail whu-jh was delajed by a wind of
hurricane force, began exchanging
reminiscences of other "blows" they
had endured, when one old-timer
remarked:
"say, it never blows around here
quite as hard as it used to out in Ari
zona. I remember some ears ago I
was stationed out at Tombstone and
one day one of thoic desert blasts
came hiking across the country
blowing so hard that it lifted an ex
press train bodily otl the Santa Fe
track and blew it across to the South
ern Pacific, thirty-five milesaway, and
before the engineer knew- what had
happened the train rolled into Tomb
stone as smooth as you plea-e, and
bound east instead of west. Fortunate
it happened at night, when all the
passengers were asleep or there would
have been a panic on board that train
all right."
We are afraid that the editor of the
Clairemont Enterprise and "Notabit
owisky," who are responsible for this
malignment of Arizona climate in
general and Tombstone in particular
had their mental visun and physical
