Railroad Men Assist
Mine Unfortunates
M. T. Redmond of Ft. Smith,
a conductor on the Ft. Smith and
Western railway, sends us a list
of names to the Miner for publi
cation names and amount of do
nations he secured while attend
ing to his official duties, for the
uni'otrunate people at McCurtain.
Mr. Redmond, is to be congrat
ulated upon his success. His let
ter in part accompanying the list
is as follows, "I concluded to
try and see what I could do along
the line ameng traveling sales
men and railroad men; had I
started earlier I could have much
better. The one hundred dollar
check the McCurtain Relief has
the cash I have. There are
several more who I wish to get.
I will then turn it over to some
committes or whatever the ma
jority wished done."
