Phil Kewley has secured a good position at the Katy freight offi ces in McAlester. The "Pole Cats" defeated the Old Town "Greasers" Saturday 3 to 2 11 innings It was a great time those Mc Alester boosters had last week especially in Holdenville Mr. Hammeis of Chant was a guest of his daughter, Mrs. Les lie Holstead this week. The Whitaker Stock Co., one of the best on the road, are hold ing the boards at the Star Air dome in McAlester this week. It is the best company that has visited the dome in quite awhile. ... Fritz Haynes, son of Chaney Haynes has gone to Richmond, Tex., where he will visit with relatives during the summer. The big Union revival at Mc-, Alester did not close Sunday i night. The board decided to i continue for another week. I Misses Barry, Lowerison and Hoosier are home from Ramona where they have been teachtng for the past few months. Alex Anderson of Wilburton has been engaged by the Osage I Coal & Mining Co., to do some drilling atNos. 5 and 8. Judge Heathcock, one of the Miner, s best friends handled us four subscriptions last week. Judge is a great believer in his home paper. Wendell Haun, of Lockheart, Tex., is here on a visit to his aunt Mrs. S. A. Crockett. He will probably remain here if he finds a suitable position. Mrs. Frank Munoz who under went an operation at All Saints hospital some weeks ago has been brought home and at pres ent is getting along very nicely. O. R. Whitehurst and family departed Saturday night on the Oklahoma special for a thirty days visit to Oney's old home in Tennessee. Those that have not paid their subscription to the Miner are cordially invited to come forth and liquidate. We need the money. About thirty five members of the Red Men's order came over from Adamson Monday evening and met with the local tribe. A very intersting meeting was held. The Red Men lodge in Krebs has a large membership and is in a prosperous condition At the Airdome. Mel Reedfis one of the best citizens of Krebs and will be found al ways on the job. Died, at liache last Sunday morning at 5 o'clock, little Ira Mable, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Douglass. Fu neral services were held from the family residence Monday at 2 p. m., by Rev. Noble, after which the remains were laid to rest in Red Oak Cemetery. The young ladies that are tak ing pait in the plays at the Opera House to night, wish to extend to Walter K. Hokey their pro found thanks for the interest he has taken in drilling them and otherwise assisting them in their plays. A vacant house belonging to John Silva was destroyed by firp eaaly Wednesday morning. The house was used as a store ' room for feed of which quite an I amount was destroyd. The loss l was placed an $1200 with $400 insuiance. Married, at the home of Judge Murray Powell in this city last Monday afternoon Edgar Piercy to Miss Mary Cavanaugh. Both are well known in Krebs the groom being a step-son of const able J. E. Douglass and the bride is the only daughter of P. Cavan augh.
