A largo crowd again witnessed the mesmeric and hypuotic performance of the Lees at the Academy last 'night. When the call was made fcr volunteers thirty-five or forty at once responded?some well ? known business men and some Alleghany students as well as others. Mr. Lee then steppeil to the frout arid aunrmneed that two gentlemen had been expiessing themselves ou the street BS not believing in mesmerism and that he would be glad if they would come up. Mr. Andrews aud Mr. .lohnson at once walked up on the stage. Then betrau a presentation of some irresistibly funny scenes, far sur? passing Monday night in poitit of interest aud entertainrrent. The subjects danced, saug, sneezed, laughed, posed In a most reckless fashion. The serenading scene was good, in which brooms were used for instruments and all played and joined in the chorus in true sereuade fashion. The change of expression when aroused was wonderful. A mau wiis placed in a cataleptic state and a big rock which tooK fcur mi n to raise was placed on his breast as he rested on two chairs, one for bis head, the other for his feet. A black? smith from the audie occ then brought down a nine pound sledge hammer with full force several times on the rock. Sev? eral other amusing things were enacted which kept the largo audience iu a con? tinued roar of laughter. The boat scene was one of the funniest. The way those fello,vs did bail the water out, dodge the boom and finally all jump out and swim foi the shore was' truly remarkable. A different piogramme is rendered nightly.
