Shern an, of Canon Falls, Minnesota declines the call to the Rectorship of Christ church, very much to the regret of those who knew him well. Mrs. Warren Woodard and child ren left on the afternoon train on Wednesday, for a visit of some weeks beneath the paternal roof at South D.insville, N. Y. Warren Woodard was in Detroit on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Geo. H. Bedford is pushing along, with all possible dispatch, the erection of his new house on Ball street. The chancel wall heing, within the circle, of piqa-r of a still richer and more beautiful pattern. The ceiling is laid out in four panels, each covered with a different paper in imitation of fres coing, surrounded by a double border, and beautified by elaborate corner pieces which makes the ceding exceeding novel in appearance and attractive to the eye. The w indows are alt finished iu imitation of stained glnM in three designs, so arranged that the designs of the corner windows correspond diagonally across the church and the centre ones anil those on the east front are of the same pattern. The de signs are unique and pleasing, and either the inner or outer view is fine. The wood work has all been repainted in a worthy manner by Fred. Wellington, and the church re carpwtetl lo almost exactly match the paper on the walls making the effect decidedly beautiful. The cost of these line improvements has been more than $2,000, but we are pleased to learn that only a small sum now remains to be raised to pay the Inst dollar. The Dandelion Brigade.
