U. held a very profitable 'and pleasant meeting at the M. E. church Sunday evening. Mrs, McLcod delivered an address explaining the object and aim of the meeting and of the society. There .were several essay and recitations; Mrs. Weeks read a poem and the services were concluded by re. marks by Rev. F. Osburn. Not the leas attraction feature of the meeting, . was the singing of the choir, which . has been enlarged, and is making rapid progress of late, Petitions to the County Clerk are being circulated relative to calling an election to determine on county prohibition. I. wish there might be more interest manifested in the matter. I shall do all I can for the success of the measure, but can never be satitfled shor of constitutional prohibition. ,, ZlSCA.
