Enrroit Owosso Trkhh Please allow me space In your paper for a few remarks In regard to our city cemetery. I have learned that much depends uiwii the sexton. He Is expected to be learned In ills work, and it Is his duty to prepare himself as best he can by read ing and studying everything devoted to his call ing. There Is one thing that we ought not to for- fet, that all cemeteries are for a certain purpose, know I feel frequently the difficulty of trying to combine the landscape effects and beauties with the cemetery part of It, but It has been done In other cemeteries and I know that It can be dono In ours. We must not forget that the one great and Important thing to remember Is that a erne teryi a cemetery, kihXwq cannot make anything else of It, but make It just as beautiful as we pos sibly can. Now let me ask all who are Interested In this work, what are we going to do In lstH? Much has been done in the past. Those In ccntrol have worked hard and done much to clean up and beautify the grounds and today there are no swampy or unkept nooks or corners to e found within the inclosure. Hut are we satisfied with this, and should we stop here? l!y no means. Let us not be discouraged but renew our efforts of the past. It Is not my purpose to ilnd fault, and I have no wish to offend, but I do wish to en courage every lot owner to renewed efforts In this matter. Let me give you an idea of what was done In the way of work on lots last season. About one third of tho lots occupied received good care throughout the season, one third re ceived but one raking Just before Decoration Day, and the remaining one-third received no care at all. Make this a personal thought, "What can I do this year to Improve and beautify my lot?" In this way and in no other can the workbedone henry Travkk, Sexton.
