Decidedly one ot tic iiionteuliatauti.il buildings in
the city hia recently been erected by the Messrs.
Ilillman, on Maiket street, in the rear of their
present store on College. It sas built expressly
for the businegs which these gentlemen are en

n iron and heavy hardware store, none could
bardly be better a liipred. The increasing demand
for iron, and the trowing bus! ss in this depart
Dient of trade, has umde this eiteicioi. of room ne

heavy hardware. In another place wil! be found
an advertisement ei uir.iraiing many thing to be
found in this stock.
Naw BriLDiMis With ih first indication of
moderate weather, we notice that large numbers cf
bands ar eng-J in prosecuting the work upon
structures already commenced or are removing old
buildings and s'ruettires preparatory to the erec
tion of new ones in their stead. The old store
bouse adpining the new utore of Thompson ii Co.,
is being torn down, and a fine new one is to supply
its place, corresponding with those on iithr side
of it The old houses at the corner of the iri j ire
and F.-ont.str't t, are ptrt disappearing and
and magni6cent blocfe of buildings is to put upon
the site. Such ia ih mirch of iinprovenmetit.

The late heavy rain caused the ice in the river
in thia vicinity to break up yesteiday. That above
the bridge formed a gorge at the old pillars. A
slight rie and a consfqoent current of greater

If we understand the subject, he has carried that article
to the fanhest perfection of which it is capable Instead nf
employing Drugs n ta composition, as we have always
thought the necesaary and only way, he has with consum

The composition is then mixed and rolled by machinery and
steam powerinto asperold pill which is wrapped in an en
