K. CHll.M A CO.'S PAT K NT ELA8 TIO FIRE AND WATK-K-PROOF CEMENT ROOM!', and ask the attention of Architect, Builders, Railroad l orn. pinies, and the public to examine its superiority oer other ARCHITECTS AND BUTLDEBS sbonM not fail to examine this Hoofing, a it is better and cheaper than any thin in u?e. The material forms a hard and smooth sur face that will resist the action of the atmosphere in every climate. It is impervious to water, elastic, and flexible. It contracts and expands with the changes of the atmos phere, and will neither tvapor ate, crack nor rot; and, as to ifs durability, there is no qoeition. It is practically imperishable, and will perfectfully resist any ordinary external exposure to fire, as is abundantly proved, and we will warrant it water-proof. We will en gage to put onr Roofing on over ordinary good fcheathin?, old'shtnirles, tar and gravel, tin, ainc, copper, or Iron roofs it making no difference how st-ep or flat they may be for seven dollars per one hundred square feet; it being far cheaper than any Roof of the old style, and we are sure it rill f ive better satisfaction. 'f It will also be found to be the best tring ever invented, to ' cover or mend old leaky tin, tar and gravel roof i, or around chimney, scuttles, dormar windows, and goiters, where the tin is ru-t.-d through. This Cement can be put on to Ian as long as stone, and form a perfect adhesion to any ob ject to which it is applied. Tin Roofs can be painted over (and warranted not to leak) at two d liars and fifty cents per hundred square feet, which is cheaper and much bet ter than paint. This Roofing will be found to be the brst theng for covering large Roofs where they are exposed to fir such as Steam Mills, Saw Mi ls, Factories, Railroad Cars, bridges. Depots. c'tation Houses, Steamboat Decks, and, in fact, evrj kind of Roof where there is an external exposure from fire. As the Roof Is perfect, without a joint in It, It presents D chance for fire to communicate, and any light aubttance will burn out without igniting. g?gr" Insurance OIBces at Cincinnati, and other places where Child A Co.'s Cement has been used, insure Build ings with Roofs oovrred vita this Cement, at the same rates as for those covered with Iron, Copper or Tin. Ctf The Ce-nent will be furnished to those at a dUtance with directions for using. X3T Orders tent to the andemtgned, through the Post oftice.'wUibe promptly attended to J. T. JNO. H. LAW, Agent Royal Ins. Co., London and Liverpool. From J. B. Bennett, General Agent of Etna Ins. Co. for the Southern and Western stales. Cincikmati, Jan. 7, 1SS7. Having made considerable inquiry as to the merits ol the 'Patent HlaHtic Cement Hoofing," introduced intothiscity by Childs A Co., I find it to te highly recommended in this city by many excellent judges; that it Is meeting with very ready and general introduction; that its superiority over the tar composition Rooting is decided arid freely admitted; and finally, I expect to adopt it for my next roof, which will be next summer having intended to use tin, but will try the virtues of the "Patent Elastic Roofing" as a substitute.
