CAUTI0S TO PARTIES PUKCUASINGr
8. IV. PIKE'S
THE UNDERSIGNED, manufaetorer and srle
A proprietor of the above brand of WHISK Y,l-?Jtgj
would respectlully inform his customers and pur icLC.
cha&er of this celebrated brnnd, that there ha appeare I in
the Charleston and other Southern markets a counterfeit
cf the above Whissy, being a poisonous imitation, branded
similar to his brand; it pases under the name of 8. N. Dike's
Magnolia Whisky, Cincinnati, Ohio, and other names simi
lar to 8. N. Pike. As there is no party in this city of the
name of 8. N. Dike, H is intended to impose and deceive
those who would purchase the genuine brand. I make this
statement to put parties on their guard, as there are several
persons in the east and west making an imitation, and
using my name with a slight alteration. I have analyzed
several samples of this counterfeit brand, and found that it
contains a deadly poison; this fact alone impels me to cau
tion the public, protect those who are liable to be lec.ived.
and prevent the evil results attending the nse of this
poisonous imitation. I also hereby caution the counter
feiters of my brand that I will prosecute them to the full
extent of the law. The genuine S. N Pike's Magnolia
Whisky is distil e l from the be:t quantities or Rye and
Corn, and is warranted free from any deleterious or obnox
ious conipoun I, it being a pure and healthy beverage.
Mny parties tave recently commenced makinga brand
of Whisky Called Magnolia, but they are an immitttion
of my trade brand, so be careful at d get the only genuine
Magnolia Whisky made in the United States, and distilled
only by me. SAM'L N - PIKE,
