ELASTIC FIRE & WATER-PROOF
CEMENT ROOFING.
TrTBnndersign.1 are prepared to introduce into In
Tenneas e W. F. CHU.O- k CO. '8 PATKNT ELAS
TIC FIRE AND WATKK-PROO CEMKNT BOOKING, and
A-k the attention of Architects, Builders, Railroad Com
panies, and the public to examine itsiuperiority over other
liooftnr.
ARCHITECTS AND BUTLDEB.S should not fail to
xamioe this Hoofing, a- it is better n't cheaper than any
thing in ne. The material forms a hard and smooth tor
face that will res'st the action of the atmosphere in every
climate. It is impervious to water, elastic, and flexible.
It contracts and expands wih the changes of the atmos
phere, and will neither evapor ate, crack nor rot; and, a to
its durability, (here is no question.
It is practically imperishable, and will perfect fully resist
any ordinary external exposure to fire, as is abundantly
proved, and we will warrant It water-proof. We will en
gage to pat our Roofing on over ordinary good i heathing,
old shindies, tar and gravel, tin, sine, copper, or iron roof
It making no difference how steep or flat they may be
for seven dollars per one hundred square feet; It being far
cheaper than any Hoof of the old style, and we are sure it
will five better satisfaction.
It will also be found to be the beat thing ever Invented to
cover or mend old leaky tin, tar and gravel roof, or around
chimneys, scuttles, dorraar windows, and putters, where the
tin is rusted through. This Cement can be put on to last
as long as stone, and form a perfect adhesion to any ob-j.-ct
to which it is applied. Tin Roofs can be painted over
(and warranted not to leak) at two d liars and fifty cents
p-r hundred tquare feet, which Is cheaper and much bet
ter than paint. This Rooting will be found to be the best
theng for covering large Roofs where thev are exposed to
fir such as Steam Mills, aw Mi ls, factories. Railroad
Cars, Bridges. Depots, t-tation Houses, Steamboat Decks,
and. In fact, ev ry kind of Roof where there Is an external
exposure from ljv. As the Roof is ptrfect, without ajoint
in it, it presents no chance for lire to communicate, and any
light sut lance will burn out without igniting.
fT-t"" Insurance Oi!ic.--s at Cincinnati, and other places
where Child A Co.' Cement has been used, insure Build
ins with Hoofs covered ith this Cement, at the same
rate as for those coverei with Iron, Copper or Tin.
(?tf- The Cement will be furnUhed to those at a distance
with directions lor usin.

Reason why this Machine Is Universally
Preferred over All Others.
1 Because it is the only Sewing Machine in
the world ever invented, so constructed as to
folly meet the demands of families for general
use.
2 It 19 very simple and ia cover liable to get
ont of order.
3 It makes a seam which will not rip, though
every third 6titch is cut.
4 It is not a Shuttle Machine.
o it sews witn two needles, making any
engtti stitca desired.
6 It sews from two ordinary spools, and
thus all trouble at winding thread is avoided;
wtule the same Machine can be adapted at
pleasure, by a mere change of spools, to all
varieties of work.
7 The same Machine runs silk or linen
thread, and common spool cotton, with equal
iacuity.
8 Th is Machine will sew in the sleeves of a
coat with the same ease and facility that it
sews a straigLt seam.
y i iiis Machine can be rnn to make one
thousand five hundred stitches per minute.
10 The seams are as elastic as the most elas
tic fabric, so that it is free from all liability to
break in washing, ironing or otherwise.
it i tie sticnes maue by this machine are
more beaatiful than any other made either by
nana or machine.
The price of these Machines at office Iu New
York, range from $75 to $150: an additional
charge of $10 only is made on each machine
over New York prices at office in Nashville, to

As no oderYroceds from the preparation, the "glove can
be worn immediately after it is cleaned. With a piece of
flannel, apply a small portion of the preparation verv
HghVy. and the dirt will instantly disappear. It is the ar
ticle used by the Kid-Glove Manufacturers of France to
impart that purity of finish and softness for which their
glove are to justly celebrated. It cleans kid slippers and
white and colored kid-glove elegantly, it i also an ex
cellent article for the toilet and for beautifying the com
plexion, removing tan, pimples, Ac, far exceeds in excel
lence any of the thousand and one preparations usually
m1;1 for that purpose. Ore trial, at the trifling expense of
25 cents, will convince any one that the article it all that it
is claimed to be. Try a bottle of it for 25 cents, and yon
will never wish to be without it. It can be obtained of all
