THE WAT SOX SiO
SEWING MACHINE.
A BOOT the 20th day of Augn'f, 1S.:6. I was employed
hy Mesrs Watson, Wooster A Co., composed of Wm.
O. Watson Morris Knfgh, and George H. Wooster, to
manufacture Sewing Machine i, which were known as the
" Watson Ten Doll ir Fewing Machine." That thereafter I
received a notice from the eouocel of 0 B. Potter and N.
Wheeler, mentioned in the annexed copy of injunction.
Informing me that thee Machines were an infringement
npon Letters Patent hich they owned, ard that suits
would be los'ttated against me, unless I should otherwise
settle with them. This, notice I hindtd to Mr. Wooster,
one of my employers'
I then mad investigations to Sfsertain the facts, and
found that said Machine, as I belie e-i, was an infringe
m"nt or said Patent, and I informed said Watson that such
was my opinion.
Sabreq iently a suit was commenced agalest me by said
Potter and Wheeler, and immediately thercaftrr L so In
formed Mr. Watson, and requeted him to take charge of
the defence of the same, and he refused to do so, and I
then tol l hi n that I wontd have no'hini; more to do with
it, and I then eessed o make the Machine; and tie In

Uoonnr.
ARCHITECTS AND BUILDEBS should not fail to
examine this Routing, ai it is better and che.iper than any
thinnn nie. The m iterial forms a hard and smooth sur
face that will resist the action of the f 'mosphere in every
climate. It is impervious to wa'er, elastic, and flexible.
It contracts and expands wi'h the changes of the atmos
phere, and will neither vaporate. crack nor rot; and, as to
its nuraMli'y, there is no queition.
It is practically imperishable, an! will perfectfully resist
any ordinary external exposure to fire, as is abundantly
proved, and we will warrant it water-proof. We will en
gage to put our Rooting on over ordinary good heathing,
old shinnies, tar and gravel, tin, sine, copper, or iron roofs
It making no difference how su-ep or flat they may be
for seven dollars per one hundred square feet; it being far
cheaper thin any Kiul of the old style, and we are sure it
will t.'ive beltt-r satmfuctinn.
It will also he found to be the best thing ever invented to
cove'- or mend old leaky tin, tar an 1 gravel roof), or around
chimneys, scuttle, dormiir windows, ami gutters, where the
tin is ruted through. This Cement can be put on to last
as long as stone, and furtn a perfect adtieiion to any ob
ject to which it is applied Tin Hoofs can be painted over
(and warranted not lo leik) at two d liars and fifty cent
per hundred square feet, which is cheaper and mucti bet
ter than paint. This Roofing will be found to be the best
theng fur covering larire Koufs where they are exposed to
fir such as Steam Mills, Saw Mills, r'sctories, lUilroad
Cars, Bridges, Depots, Mation Houses, Steamboat Decks,
and, in fact, evt-ry kind of Roof where there is an external
esposure from fire. As the Roof is perfect, without a joint
I a it presents n chance for fire to communicate, and any
light subitanoe will burn out without igniting.
(W Insurance Others at Ciucinnati, and other places
where Child i A Co.'s Cenent has been used, insure build
ings with Koofs oovfred vltb this Cement, at the same
rates as for those covered with Iron, Copper or Tin
tr The Cement will be furnished to those at a distance
with directions for using.
