ELASTIC FIRE & WATER-PROOF
'T'HK undersigned are prepared to introduce inton.eln
A Tennessee W. K. UHti.ua utj.-n riri- iu,as
TIO FIRK AND WATER-PROOF CF.MKNT ROOFINT, and
ask the attention of Architects, builders. Railroad Com.
panies, and tbe public to examine its superiority over other
ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS should not fail to
examine tbis Roofing, as it is better and cheaper than any
thins; in use. The material forms a nam ami smooth sur
face that will resist the action of the atmosphere in every
climate. It la Impervious to water, elastic, and flexible.
It contracts and expands with the changes of the atmos
phere, and will neither evaporate, crack nor rot; and, as to
Ita durability, there is no question
It is practically imperishable, and will perfectfully resist
any ordinary external exposure to lire, as is abundantly
proved, and we will warrant it water-proof. We will en
gage to put our Roofing on over ordinary good fheathing,
old shingles, tar and gravel, tin, sine, copper, or iron roofs
it making no difference how steep or flat they may be
for seven dollars per one hundred square feet; it being far
cheaper than any Roof of the old style, and we are sure it
. will (rive better satisfaction.
It will also be found to be the best thing ever invented to
cover or mend old leaky tin, tar and gravel roofs, or around
chimneys, scuttles, dormar windows, and gutters, where the
tin is rusted through. This Cement can be put on to last
as long as stone, and form a perfect adhesion to any ob
ject to which it is applied. Tin Roofs can be painted over
(and warranted not to leak) at two d liars and fifty cents
per hundred square feet, which is cheaper and much bet-
t.ir th.n atut. This IUjuDuk wMl lc fon.d tu be the best
theng for covering large it oof. s where thev are exposed to
fir such as Steam Mills, Saw Mills, Factories, Railroad
Cars, Bridges, Depots, fetation Houses, Steamboat Decks,
and, in fact, every kind of Roof where there is an external
exposure from fire. As the Roof ia perfect, without ajoint
n it, it presents n" chance for fire to communicate, and any
ight subitance will burn out without igniting.
I f7 Insurance otlices at Cincinnati, ana other places
where Child A Co.'s Cement has been nsed, insure Build
tngs with Roofs oovered vlth this Cement, at the sain
rates as for those covered with Iron, Copper or Tin
tf The Cement will be furnished to those at a distance
with directions for using
CST" Orders lent to the undersigned, through the Post
office, will be promptly attended to
