Whe-le', mentioned in the annexed copy of injunction.
Informing me tht the e Machine were ao infringement
upon Letters Patfnt hich they own-H, a d thai suit,
would be ins ituted against m, unless I rhould otherwise
set'le wjth them. This notice I b nded to Mr. VAooster,
ou of my -mrieyers"
I then made investigations to e.ertin the fact, and
found that said Mac'ine, as f believe I, was an infringe
ment of sd Patent, and I Informed said Watson that such
t my opinion.
Sub eq lently a suit was commenced agaiet me by gaid
Pottr and Wheeler, and Immeiiateiy thereafter I so in
formed r. atn, and rrq i-ted him to take charge of
the defence of the same, ai'i he refused to do so, and I
then told hi n that I would have robbing more to do with
It, and I then ceased o make the Machines; and tie in

face that will resist the action of the atmosphere In every
climate It i- impervious to water, elastic, and flexible.
It contracts and expands wi'h the changes of the a'mos
phere, and will neither evaporate. crack nor rot; and, as to
Its ituiariii y, there is no q iettion.
It i-. practically imperihhahle, and will perfectfully resist
any ordinary external exposure to fire, as is sbundantly
proved, and we will warrant it water-proof. We will en
gage to put our Roofing on over ordinary good heathing,
old sh'ntfles, tar -ind gravel, tin, sine, copper, or iron roofi
It making no difference how steep or flat tbey may he
for seven dollars per one hundred square feet; it being far
cheaper than anv Roof of the old style, and we are sure it
will live better satisfaction.
It will also be round to be the best thing ever Invented to
eove or mend old leaky tin, tarand gravel roofi, or around
chimneys, scuttles, dnnuar windows, ami gutters, here the
tin is rutted through. 1 his Cement can be put on to la.'t
as long as stone, and form a perfect adhesion to any ob
ject to which it is applied. Tin Roofs can be painted over
laud warranted ooi to leak) at two d liars and fifty cents
ptr hundred square feel, which is cheaper and much bet
te.r than paint. This Kooflog will be found to be the best
thcng for covering large Koofs where thev are exposed to
Br - .ucli as Steam Mills, daw Mills, factories, lUilroad
Cars, Uridge. Depots. Milioti Houses, Steamboat Decks,
and, in fact, ever kind ol Roof where there is an external
C osure from Ore. As the Roof id perfect, without a Joint
