Sanilac Centre will haye a new race track finished by July 4th. The old (I. T. depot at Point Edward is being litted up for a summer resort. Thomas L. Ward, an old and much respected citizen of Sanilac county, died May 2S. Richmond schools closed last week. Armada schools close this week with sixteen graduates. June 20th is the date for the grand Firemen's tournament anil band com petition at Romeo. The corner stone of the First M. E. church of Lamotte, is to be laid on Saturday, June 8th. Macomb county has granted lifty tive licenses this year, twenty-eight being indued in Ml. Clemens. Brown City is proud of the big busi ness its creamery is doing this season. 12,000 poundsof milkare received daily. The St. Clair and Macomb Counties Soldiers' and Sailors' Association will be held at Marine City, August 20 and 21. The city has put up !2"jO. Hugh McLean, who has driven the 6tage between Sanilac Centre and Car son v ille for a number of years, will take charge of a hotel ut Port Sanilac. Two Marlette doctor were in Hum- side one dav last week when their docs killed a sheep in the street. The doctors paid for the sheep and then killed their dog. Darius Race, a man DO years of age, living about 4 miles south of Marlette. was run down by a runaway team on Monday and o injured as to cause his death on Wednesday. The directors of the Capac Agricul tural Society advertise for a couple to be married on their fair grounds dur ing the fair., which is to be held the hrst week in October. A citizen of Ilrown City complains in the l!annr about the neglected state of Ilrown City cemetery and the habit of allowing -sheep to browse there, spoiling all attempts at decoration. Mrs. Adam Ca.t of Richniondville, Sanilac County, is 110 years of age. She does the work for herself and hus band, and walks 1J miles to church. She has been married three tines, and is a great .great grandmother. Mrs- A. A. Smith, of Capac, and Mrs. Flagler, of Iinhiy City, have in herited from their great grandfather, Eieuc2er lirooks, who was killed ut Hunker Hill, a large silver spoon each, made from the knee buckles worn by him. There are the usual eight large pages of practical Working Designs for Wood ear ving, Pyrography, China Painting and Needlework. The num ber itself is especially one for the young illustrator. Besides a lesson on "Drawing for Reproduction ," by Ernest Knaullt, there are many fine examples of the masterly work of Daniel Yierge. The frontispiece is verv interesting, being a pen drawing by Thure De Tliulstrup reproduced by the "half-tone" process. Resides thefo E. M. Hallow-ell's "Flower Draw ing in Pen-and-ink," with numerous illustrations, is still continued.
