Stratford Steam Laundry. (Published by request.) A first-class, well-regulated steam laundry, a place where people are sure of a service of the proper nature, is a very valuable adjunct to any town or city, ami in this, our enterprising city of Stratford, the people are blessed with at least one institution of exactly that nature. The establishment refer red to is the Stratford Steam Laundry, located on Wellington street, which is so ably conducted by J. W. (.'ho wen. Although this business has been estab lished here little more than a month owing to the strictly lirst-class quality which has characterized its work it has sprung into prominence and already enjoys a large and constantly increas ing patronage. The premises occupied aie large and commodious and equip ped with the most modern machinery of the highest grade, which was manu factured by the well-known London firm of Mailock it Co., tho engine and lioiler being made by K. Leonard & Son. In this work Mr. Chowen used no acids or strong alkalies to expedite his labors anil rot and destroy the cus tomers' linen; a labor-saver of that na ture so often resorted to by unscrupu lous laundrymen is a matter entirely foreign to him. For ' excellence of finish his work is not surpassed in the Dominion and his prices are low and reasonable in every particular. Work entrusted to him is turnea out in the shortest posilile time and is always of the most satisfactory nature. A special collecting and delivery wagon is run and the 'phone number is 173. Mr. Chowen is a gentleman of integrity and sterling business worth and his es tablishment leads in its line. Stratford (Out.) Evening Herald. It is only twelve inches long, has a head the size of a tea-cup, and the lingers are but little thicker than the common parlor match. She is perfectly formed and at last accounts was healthy and likely to live. The parents of the child are above the average stature, which makes the case a peculiar one.
