The Third Annual Conference for Ministers and Christian Workers will hold its sessions in Chicago, at the lJible Institute, throughout the month of April. In the past those m attendance were from as tar west as the Dakotas and Texas, and as far east as New Jlruus- wick. It is expected that ail sections of the Union will be represented this year. The object or tins i.onierence is to consider and discuss the various lines of aggressive Christian work, and to listen to the best IHble instructors that can be secured. It is free, undenomina tional, and open to all interested in any line ot Christian work. Mr. Moody will be present for some days at the open ing, and Dr. A. F. Sehaulller, .Superin tendent of the City Missions of New l oi k, and a well known fcmnday .school worker and llible teacher. Prof. W.O. Moore I iead of Xenia Theological Sem inary will teach during part of the Con ference. Prof. John K. Sainpey, of the Southern llaptist Theological Semin- iry, Louisville, Ky., will deliver a course oi eignt lectures on nis recent travels and explorations throughout Kgypt and the Holy Land. 1(. A. Tor- rey, oi i nicago, win ne present, ami teach throughout the Conference. W. 11 -Newell. Assistant Mipei intendent, who teaches week-night JJible classes, ittcMided weeklv by o,UU, will tell how it is done. l'he Conference will be held at the Pdble Institute, a center of activity in our western metropolis. 1 lu ( onter- ncisthe outgrowth or offspring ot the Institute. IJesides the special addresses by peakers from abroad, tin regular work of the Institute will go right on. I'lns onsists of lectures each forenoon ;:t nine ami eleven o cloci; on iiinic Doc trine, JJible Studv bv Chapters, etc., bv the Superintendent, 15. A. Toney. and the Assistant Superintendent, W. If. Newell. An interesting feature of this branch of the Conference will be Mr. 'I orrey s lass in "Millie Studv bv Chapters," and his class in Personal Work, where in struction is given in the practical de tails of bringing men to Christ. 1 lie musical work will be under the lirection of Prof. I). 15. Towner, Super- tendent of the Musical Department of the Institute. In addition to the var ious music classes at the Institute, which will be open to all who care to ittend and receive the benefit ot the in structiou offered, he will give practical illustration ot how to conduct song ser vices to the glory of (Jod and salvation of souls The outside work of the Institute has thvaya proven a profitable feature of the Conferences. It will afford all who ittend an opportunity to study its ag- irressive methods along an lines. .Not only can they study these methods as they are taught, but they can see the three hundred students at worK apply ing thein successfully to every day Christian life. , It is interesting to note how the Con ference appeals to Christian interest everywhere, and how widespread the interest is. Although the meeting will not occur until April, inquiries have long been coming m as to programme, arrangements lor entertainment, etc As in the past, the. moderate sum of live dollars per person per week for board and room will be charged in the Institute for all who can be accommod ated. The Conference occurs at the close of the winter's heavy work, and many pas tors obtain leave ot absence lor the va cation then, in order to attend the Con ference. In the past, churches appreciating the great advantages attained by attending this ( onlerence, have not only granted their pastors leave of absence, but also paid the expences ot the trip lor them. These churches have been abundantly repaid for the outlay of money by re ceiving their pastor back again refresh ed in body and with increaseel spiritual power. The indications are that the attend ance will be much larger this year than ever before, and great as the past bles sings have been, even greater ones are expected from our Heavenly Father and His son .Jesus Christ and the Jioiy Spirit. Anyone contemplating attend ance can write Mr. Moody or 11. A. Torrey, 80 Institute l'lace, Chicago. Communicated. Teacher's Examination.
