"STale, IbvdlicikL- S The Question Is- t AJ Are we going to get hard coal, and when, and at what price? This uncertainty is keeping many from buying stoves. Why suffer with the cold any longer? Why not buy a stove which will burn either soft coal or wood, and then when you can get hard coal, use that in the same stove. In this way save the cost of having two stoves, and the trouble in changing them. We have the Florence, Garland and Jewel Heaters.... and each one is excellent for burning hard or soft coal. They are constructed in such a manner that most of the gases from coal are consumed, while with the base burner it escapes into the chimney. Having sold a large number of these last year, and every purchaser being so well pleased, we are sure you wiN be. We would like very much to have you look over our line of Stoves and Ranges before purchasing. STORM SASH. This is something you should have at once. It is with regret that we, shall see our fellow lowiiMnaii, Judge Tappan and his family hiv our village, but ho it miibt be. Mr. lappan has rented house in Port Huron, on Prospect St., near Cine drove park, and Mrs. lap pan Is in trie city to-day making necei nary arrangements for removal as soon as possible. The family has endeared Itself to all our people very strongly and the ties that bind them here will Im hard to break. Friends innumerable have they, so well beloved they have be come, who will see them go with or row. In the vicinity of the homo on Mechanic street, neighbors will sorely miss the kind actions and pleasant word ever so ready to be spoken. 1 he solace is that the distance to the new home is not great, and it is not alto gether unlikely that Mrs. lappan may wish it sun greater when her ale friends are pouring in upon her rather too often for her comfort, but heartiest wishes lor the welfare of all are given. and may success, good health and pros K?rity attend them. P.Krj, the otnilig number of the Yule High School Lecture Courae will bn given III Central Hall by Kugeuu V. l)i b, the greilt l.'ibor leader who will lecture on the "Helation of Labor and Capital. " .lust how deep heated ii that which we call the "labor question" i.s ne of the most diihculi tilings to calculate. Mr. Oi ln gives two h"uis of remark able dixoiir.se on the right and dignity of labor, and equality and justice among men. It is from the stand point of experience that he speaks, he having been, as man) will remember, the leader of the Wailroad strike in Chicago in IV.'I, and through this brought into much notoriety. He held the same ixi.iition at that time that John Mitchell held in the recent coal strike. President (larlield once uttered the epigram, that there is no dynamic force in the world comparable to an idea. Mr. Debs 1i;ls the idea and knows how to bring out the dynamism and arouse the public conscience to a sense of the wrongs Buffered by the masses of the people. As a lecturer he is one of the greatest on the American platform. He has so many invitations to come be fore the public that he cannot begin to till them. Kvery where he goes, he is greeted by large and attentive audien ces. One striking feature of these lec tures is the large number of educators and students that attend them. IJusi ness and professional men and even labor managers of large concerns swell the multitudes that go to hear him. The reason is that he is a broad mind ed man and his lecture takes in every phase of the subject: he never abuses hit opponent nor talks mi anything but that which is of interest to the common people, and his arguments are so elo quent, magnetic and forcible that lie always wins. The w ork of Mr. Debs is so enormous that we cannot conceive of what he h;is done. He has wrought wonderful changes in the conditions of the labor ing classes and these changes have bcnciltcd nearly every American citizen. I'.vcrybody loves a man like Mr. Debs who is sincere and has the courage of his convictions. No more certain proof of the truth of this assertion was ever given than the es teem in which this man is held to-dav liven those who have frankly di tiered with him on economic issues, respect him tor ins honesty and admire him for his genius. Everywhere he has i wen, ins path is well marked by tin words: "Kugene Debs has come and gone, but he has left behind him an im pression that connot be elfaced." The lecture promises to be better man any we have ever had. and every one should attend. You may never nave the opportunity to hear this man again, and if you should miss it, it w ould indeed be a great loss. 1 he small ad mission fee of twenty-live cents should enable everyone to come.
