The Thumb of Michigan has been taken into winter quarters and we are now enjoying splendid winter weather with a line bunch of snow thrown in. Henry Tearce has been suffering for the past two or three weeks with a very lame leg which he injured while at work at the post ottice. The Dr. thinks the ligament of the leg were strained. Dick Windsor was taken with a severe pain in his back Monday morn while shovelling snow and was com pelled to remain at home for a couple of days. He is back to work in the barber shop. It is very seldom that Dick has a holiday. At the special meeting of the O. E.S. Wednesday evening Nellie Heard, Rob ert lleid and JJruce Lothian were ini tiated into the Order. A social time was enjoyed after the business meeting and refreshments were served. Anxious friends were very much re lieved and pleased when a turn for the better enme in the serious illness of Mrs. J. K. lieavis. Each day now there is a little improvement which all hope will continue and that she wilt quickly regain her health and strength. Tuesday's Fort Huron Daily Times contains a notice of the death of Don alda MacDonald, of Strathroy, whom many of our young people will remem ber as having spent some weeks visit ing at the Hapley home in Yale and with the Hayes family to whom she wa related, a tew years since. Miss MacDonald was only nineteen years of age and died of consumption at the home of her uncle in Strathroy, both parents having been dead a number of years. LODGE tltCTIONS.
