Telephone central at Memphis has been moved into Uwen s drug store Deckerville high school gave the play "Hreezy l'oint" very successfully last week. The l'resbyterian church at Croswell gave a Hallowe'en party for its Sunday school last Saturday evening. An organization of JJoy Scouts has been formed at Croswell, twenty-live boys have enrolled as members. The Croswell JJrick & Tile Co. has made about a million brick this season which are worth lrom to $1U a thousand. Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Matthews of Croswell are moving to- l'eck. About to neighbors and friends gave tnem a surprise party before they left. The big grading bee at Peck last week did a mile and a half of road and are still working. Peck people are cer tainly bound to have the Handy rail road. It is reported that the Koach Can- nine Company has decided to move its factory from Lexington to Croswell and will erect a plant on the old ilax mill grounds. The live year old son of Jacob Wan amaker, near Croswell, died last week from the effects of drinking cider which had been standing in a tin pail several hours. The barns and outbuildings on the farm of Frank Wagner, near Croswell were destroyed bv lire last week with all this years crops and machinery. Insurance partially rovers the loss. The tire is a mystery. The staff of the Richmond Ileview has been enlarged by L.C. Harris, editor of the New Haven Advocate, becoming associate editor and advertising man ager of the Keview aud by Walter Fuller, a young mau who has decided to enter journalism and who becomes reporter for his home paper. The editor of the Marlette Leader is getting a whole lot of fresh air these days by taking trips with the different mail carriers on their routes. The re suit gives him about two columns of write up for his paper, splendid men tion of the farms and country round-a bout and a puff for each individual carrier. On Monday of last week while Mr. and Mrs. Van den Einde, living north west of Armada were working in the field, leaving their two children, aged live and two alone in the house, the boy bhot his baby 6ister with the fa ther's gun, left standing in a corner, supposedly empty. The child died in a few minutes, being horribly mutilat ed by the close charge. Walter Milbank, a Sandusky farmer, was held up in Detroit at Last Lafay ette Ave. and Randolph Ave. last Friday evening by two men with a gun and relieved of S'JO. Sunday while walking on St. Antoine St. he recog nized one of the robbers, gave chase, captured him and had him held for trial on a charge of highway robbery.
