It is confidently expected that a $25,000 two-process condensary plant will be established at Carsonville. The hotel at Almont will be opened and operated, provided the business men will stand behind the venture. George Mater, a pioneer resident of Sanilac county, died last week at his home in Custer township, aged 92 years. The farmers to the south-east of Croswell have organized a new thresh ing company which will be ready to do business the coming fall. George Corsault, a pioneer Croswell farmer, aged 80 years, has become in sane and has been placed in confine ment until he can be sent to Pontiac. Solomon Hill, of Brown City, died very suddenly last week. He was taken ill while sitting in a chair talk ing to his family, and died in an hour Mrs. George Muzzy, a former Car sonville woman now living in Tort Hu ron, attempted her life by taking car bolic aeid. She may die. Domestic unhappiness is given as cause for the act. The three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Greenleaf, of Hemans, fell in a big ditch in front of their home on Tuesday of last week and was drown ed. It was three hours after the little one was missed before the body was found. Lelloy Cunnis, the 18 year old son of II. li. Cunnis, of Algonac, after work ing several months on an airplane of approved type, has it completed. The machine is propelled by a 14 horse power engine. He has made a sue cessful trip across to Walpole at the rate of CO miles an hour. Cbas. G. Crosby, director of the Lex ington and Marlette bands for Beveral years, has consented to take the lead- ership of the Calumet-Hecla band, one of the big bands of Northern MichI gan. Mr. Crosby will be greatly miss ed in the towns where his musical leadership has been highly appreciated. Brother Paton, of the Almont Herald Is having a run of 111 luck. A short time ago he was In quarantine several weeks for small-pox, having the dis ease himself, next his help in the printing office was called to the colors. Now he has been drawn for jury work and can not be excused. J3ro. Paton is inclined to think he is suffering for the sins of another. When Carsonville business men found out that the editor of their weekly paper couldn't live on nothing at all. and that he had sold his printing ma terial to Slate of Sandusky,they got busy and with inducements of steady trade promised, persuaded editor Dean to buy new material and begin the pub lication of a paper again. The St. Clair County Chapter has asked Yale Branch to furnish 2d sets Infant's Layetts for the refugees of Belgium and Northern France. It is not the desire of the Bed Cross that this should be furnished from the funds of the chapter, nor the work Interfere with the regular hospital and field work of the chapter; therefore volunteers are solicited to furnish and make one or more of these layetts. The material required is white outing and 5 yards will make a complete layette, and the local branch will furnish patterns for same. Words fail us when we try to express all that is in our hearts, but we can best honor and show our love for our de parted eister, by emulating her Godly life and christian fortitude. Amid clouds or sunshine her faith and trust in the Heavenly Father was ever stead fast and true, and, ,if she, with all the cares and responsibilities of home and pastorate, could ever show a cheerful smiling face, surely we, though we can not understand, can bow to the will of an All-wise Creator and say, "Thy Will Be Done." "Not now but in the com ing years." It may be in the better land we'll read the meaning of our tears, and there, sometime, we'll under stand.
