of passengers, was burned lust night
at Pltinueinlno, La. It Is stated
that of 100 persons on board, only 14

reached tho mother and brother of
Carmlchiuil and aroused their fears
that ho had been buried alive. They
cuuscd tho body to bo exhumed and
ellorts were made to resuscitate liltn.
Tho work was continued soven-l
days without success. Tho same
lifelike expression of tho face which
led to tho disinterment of tho body
remained, however, though tho
doctors pronounced tho man dead.
