THE STATE FAIR,
The Opening Today Will See Most
Exhibits in Place.
Display Will De Fine and the Paces the
Best Seen for Many
Yeats.
A hurried trip to tho fair grounds dis
closes the fact that everything out there
is hustle and confusion, us is usual on the
day before the opening of the fair.
Exhibitors are working hard to got
their displays in placo and in order.
Wagon loads and dray loads of goods,
wares and merchandise, Mowers, grains,
vegetables, works of utility and works
art are being unloaded at the pavilion
and its annexes.
Kostmirants, lunch counters, cigar
stands, ice cream stands, etc., are being
nit in readiness bv the owners of con-
cessions, the nierry-uo-round is ready
for business ; and there w ill be no lack
of the usual amusements, free and
otherwise, of a state fair.
Tho pavilion will ho filled witli 'a dis
play fully equal, if not superior to nny
that has been seen thero before. Tho
art department will contain many new
paintings, and other fresh features, in
cluding Ouy Powers' noted collection of
Indian relies, fiwils, etc.
The Salem Camera club will linean
extensive exhibit of amateur photo
hraphlc work. Mr. and Mis. K. C.
Cross, Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Strang, Mrs.
A. I 1 Infer and other memlwrw of thif
club contributing their best work.
