POWERS, NSPECTED THE SALEM An Inspection of the dairies In the city was made yesterday afternoon by Dr. W. B. Morse, member of the State Board of Health, and State Veterinarian E. E. Lyttle, of Pen dleton. In general the officers found the dairies In a good condition, but two of them were found In need of Im provements, and one of these was In bad condition. Tho officers general ly recommended In favor of more light and ventilation, and also rec ommend that patrons make it u point to visit tho dairies whenever possible as they feel satisfied that this will reult in much improve ment of them by the owners. N. Griffith of the W. H. Egan ranch brought in some largo Burbanic potatoes which he says are only half grown, but they are beauties. Also some fine sugar beets. Mr. R. D. Teter from the Liberty district brought in acrate of tho wonderful Oregon Champion prune. It only took two layers to fill the basket and tbey are certainly beau ties. Mr. Teter has been shipping these prunes for somo tlmo past. He also brought In for the Great North- pern exhibit car and the Chamber of Commerce display in Portland, some branches of the different varieties of prunes and plums. They, were largo In size and the branches were as full of fruit as they could hold. , All of these will make high class advertising for Salem, and more good specimens are wanted of any kind of fruit or vegetables for this advertis ing display. o WOMEN'S WOES.
