WESTERN TEXAS.
The Presbytery of Western Texas
was to have held its stated fall meet
ing in one of its country churches,
but owing to conditions which arose
the week previous to the date for
the meeting the Moderator was com
pelled to change the place of the
meeting from Charco to Goliad.
On September 16th the Presbytery
met at Goliad and was opened with a
sermon by Rev. X. H. P. McCurdy,
who was the last Moderator present.
There were twelve ministers and
seven ruling elders present. This was

which was caused by the fact that two

South Texas was visited with a terri

portion of Western Texas Presbytery,
leaving death and destruction in Its
path.
Rev. E. ?W. McLaurin, of Edna,
was elected Moderator, and Rev. R.
A. McCurdy, of Lockhart, Temporary
Clerk.
Rev. R. A. McLeod, D. D., was re
ceived from Central Texas Presbytery
and orders were taken for his instal
lation at Cuero on the fourth Sabbath
in October.
Presbytery engaged for some time
in the discussion of the Assembly's
Plan of Evangelism, and adopted the
following resolution:
Resolved. That this Presbytery en
dorse the Campaign of Evangelism as
outlined by the Assembly's committee
and place the matter in the hands of
the Presbyterian committee.
The overtures sent down by the As
sembly were placed on the docket for
the stated spring srssion.
Presbytery heard with pleasure the
news that Rev. R. M. Hall, D. D., had
been elected regional evangelist for
Texas and would soon enter upon his
duties in that office. He will receive
