He delivered two Sun day School addresses and a series of "?veiiiiiK addresses on "Sumo of the Klindn mental Doctrines of Christian ity." Dr. Liimle's forceful and lueti messages im the Word of Cod were ;i dislinet feature of tin* Conference pro gram. Dr. .1. (). Ilea vis of Naslt ville, Tenn., conducted lite vesper s-*r vices and led < In* foreign mission study classes. His broad experience and true Christ inn personality instilled lessons of fruitful consequence into the liearts of the Conference dele gales. In (lie Rihlc study course, Dr. 15. K. l.acy of Central Presbyterian Church. Atlanta, f?a., conducted one <if t In* most interesting classes of tin* session. Ilis scries of instructive lec tures dealt with "Paul's Conversion and Ills Spoken Messages.'* Dr. Hofner McMillan, of Atlanta, (la., in his Home Mission classes cre ated an indelible impression on the young people through his vivid de scription of tin* need and opportunity for service. He emphasized the im jortance of making this country n (iod-land built upon the Jesus-way of living and of subduing the corners of the globe for Christianity. Mr. 11. C. Fullerton of San Antonio, Texas, lield secretary for the Assem bly's Committee on Sabath Schools, headed the Strnday School depart ment of the Conference. The modern Sunday School, as against the old fashioned one and the responsibility of the youth of the State for its fail ure or success were the striking points of his lectures. Christian Endeavor classes were ably piloted by Jack lluppertz of Dal las, Christian Kiuleavor lield secre tary for Texas. Mr. lluppertz out lined and detailed the complete or ganization and machinery of Chris tian End-aver He brought out veiy thoroughly :"be Loyalty Program ami Standards of Elliciency in this work for the young people to build their Christian Endeavors by. The amusement and recreational side of the Conference life was handled by Miss Mary Louise Wood son of Dallas. The swimming beaches of the Guadalupe River prove the center of outdoor activity for old and young life. Canoeing, fishing, ten nis, baseball, volley ball, hiking and other sports were extremely popular during the Conference. "(Jet ac quainted" gatherings, ?'sing-songs" and several receptions contributed to the social life. A. weird "Mystery Ramble" winding about the moonlit mountains was second in interest only to the stunt night program, which consisted of one-act farce comedies by the different clans. A very interest ing phase of the Conference was the "clan organization" of the delegates; each Presbytery or combination of Presbyteries was organized as a Scottish Clan and elected its own Chieftain. Competition in class work, campus conduct and sports, with a point system of grading, made the (?lit ire Conference assume the nature of staunch competing units ? divided in "pep" interest but united in a single definite purpose, a glorifica tion of the Kingdom of God. A pa triotic atmosphere was introduced and correlated w'th the religious cere monies of the daily program in the raising and lowering of Old (ilory at sunrise and sunset each day. The closing services conducted by Dr. II. K. Lacy was in the nature of a decision service.
