The committee on arrangements and reception consisted of Miss Georglana Humphreys, Mrs George F. Wasson, Mrs. J. A. Reeves, the Rev. Maxwell W. Rice, Prof. George M. Marshall and James L. Franken. The only club events of importance to be given during the holidays will be the dinner at the University club on December 29, and the annual banquet at the Commercial cluh with open house at most of the clubs on Christmas and New Year days. The annual reception and dance which was to have been given at the Alta club the last week of the month, has been postponed until Tuesday even ing, January 12th, owing to the engagements in town and out of a number of the prominent mem bers who wish to be present. Among the younger girls who will be here from the east and west to spend the holidays with their parents are Miss Marjorie Howard, Miss Erminie Calvin, Miss Helen MacVichie, Miss Charlotte Bothwell and Miss Naomi Hoffman. HAPPENINGS AND WHEREABOUTS Miss Hazel Sappington was the guest of honor at a luncheon given at the Commercial club on Thursday by Mrs E D. Woodruff and Mrs. B. F. Riter. In .honor of Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle, Mrs James Hogle gave a beautiful dinner in the ball room of the roof garden at the Hotel Utah on Wednesday evening. Earlier in the day, an elab orate luncheon was given at the hotel following the consecration services at St. Mary's cathedral. Mr. and Mrs. George L. Nye and their son, George M. Nye will spend the holidays with Colonel and Mrs. T. G. Webber. The Utah club entertained at the third of a series of dancing parties on the mezzanine floor at the Hotel Utah on Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George A Snow will spent the holidays in Washington, D. C Miss Florence Campbell was the guest of honor at a luncheon for twelve, given by Miss Beth Merrill or Wednesday. Mrs. A. G. i icKenzle gave a dinner for a dozen on Thursday in honor of Mr. MacKenzio's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smoot will entertain at dinner on Tuesday evening. Miss Helen Kearns, Edmond Kearns and Thomas Kearns, Jr., will give a dancing party at the Kearns residence on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Lafayette Hanchett entertained informally at her home on Wednesday. For Miss Florence Campbell a Kensington tea was given on Tuesday by Mrs. T. A. Williams who was assisted by Mrs John K. Hardy, Mrs Henry Richardson and Miss Edna Williams. Mrs. Frank Godbe has returned to the city after a visit of several months with her daughter, Miss Edith Godbe. Mr. and Mrs. David Keith will entertain at a theatre party Monday evening in honor of their son David Keith, Jr., who has returned from col lege in the east. Lieutenant George R. Huddleson of the United H States infantry left early in the week for Vir- H ginia, whore ho will spend the holidays with his H mother. Mrs. Huddleson and the children are the H guests of Mrs. George E. Walker here. H Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Salisbury have returned H from New York. H Mrs. Ferdinand J. Fabian and Mrs John A. H Clark have returned from Boston. H Mrs. Margaret Blaine Salisbury will arrive H shortly from Los Angeles, to spend the holidays H with Mrs. Lewis B. McCornick H Mr. and Mrs. Willard Young were the guests H of honor at a dinner given at the home of Mr. H and Mrs. D. S. Spencer on Monday evening. H Phillip and Edward Allison will return from H the cast shortly to spend the holidays with their H parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Allison.
