PRIZE, WINNERS
AWARDS AT UTAH STATE FAIR
OCT. 5-10, 1908.

The Utah State Fair for 1908 has
passed into history as being by far
, the best in its history. It lias estab
lished a new record both in attend
ance and in the quantity and quality
of exhibits. The products of the field
r and garden as well as the exhibit of
livestock in all departments surprised
even the most optimistic by its
strength arid quality. The visitors
were intelligent and appreciative and
the whole affair was a fitting tribute
to Utah's rank as the leading agricul
tural state of the inter-mountain coun
try. Mr. D. M. Landrcth told us that
he had visited ten state fairs recently
and the fair here last week .excelled
j them all. Nothing is too good for
the farmers of Utah and it is gratify-
ing to note that to the skill and intel
ligence of these, the .excellence of
most of the exhibits was due. Some
of our special contributors will take
up the various departments in this and
succeeding issues, ibut the Dcscrct
Farmer wants to place itself on rec
ord as saying that the State Fair of
1908 was a source of pride and grati
fication to every lover of the state.
