curb instead of in tho center of tho
street. Those who signed tho peti
tion were given tho option of ex
pressing themselves for or against
the proposition. A count showed 154
names for tho curb system and 27
agalnsL A number of citizens wero
present and Messrs. Sebastian, Bare,
Maloney, Rush, Romlgh, Salisbury
and Shuman gave their views. The
(Council was unanimous In approving
the change. While the. Chief of Police
has power to make such a. regulation
he d.'d not care to take tho responsi
bility until tho Council had acted. It
is understood that certain restrictions
will ho necessary and theso will bo
announced as soon as formulated.
