The county Judges and commissioners association met this morning and passed a resol ution memorializing Governor Bayers in his special call for the legislature an amendment to the statutes to pro rate nil franchise taxes assessed by Dallas and other comities among nil the counties through which the rail roads nirl express companies are run. At the preliminary' trial she made two con fessions which she now denies. The teachers in the city schools are raising a howl on account of inability to get their pay. The dnfacto school board two months ago secured an in junction through the district judge en joining the mayor from interfering with the school funds. Now the board can not raise the funds to run the schools end the citizens are clamoring to have the schools again under the mayor's supervision. SHAMROCK LEADS. New York, October 20. The Sham rock crossed the line at 11 o'clock an-t .11 seconds and the Columbia Is one minute and thirteen seconds later. The wind is twenty-one miles. The yachts made five miles the first half hour. The Shamrock is fifty-one seconds ahead of the Columbia and gaining. OVERHAULED HER. New York, October 20.
