Minister Conger, of Iowa, is gwine
back to China. In republican politics
of that state, this is said to be an allied
move.
Run for office or go courting a girl,
and every old scab on the face of the
earth steads ready to use his jaw-bone
without the usual per diem allowances.
The salvation army has never been
able to reform the front part of our
morning paper by holding meetings,
so now they have attacted the rear end
of that establishment.—Boise Clipper.

A Das Moines, (Iowa) minister is
preaching against the Almighty Dol

worshippers who beleive, "in whatso
ever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap."
A girl writes to the New York World
saying that she is desirious of being a
"lady" and the unfeeling editors
turned her over to the earl of Yar

The Idaho Free Library Commission
has published a neat little hand-book
which it is circulating for the purpose
of giving the public information con
cerning the scope aud purposes of that
worthy institution, aud giving
very
the rules aud regulations govering the
circulation of the hooks.
Our old friend, Jake Horn, who made
his "pile" publishing newspapers in
Nebraska and Idaho, bus gone into the

him the compliments of the season.

The Elmore County Bulletin started
last week on its 14th anniversary,
under the management of Geo. M.
Payne and his talented daughter.
Mabel. The Bulletin, known through
'Cld Reliable," Is
out the state as the
out and out exponent of democratic
gospel, enjoys a good patronage, and is
a power for good in Elmore county.
Nugget extends congratulations.

A laboring man can just as properly
demand that an employer quit his
union as the employer can demand that
the man quit his—Denver News.
The Laporte Press, our old home
/ paper, republican iu politics, is out for
the nomination of Cato Sells, an old
Laporte boy and a life-long democrat,
for governor of Iowa. Cato rose from
the "ranks," taught school, published
a newspaper, studied law, was U. S.
District Attorney under the Cleveland
second administration, and is now
chairman of the democratic state com
mittee of his native state, filling these
several positions with great credit to
himself and the people. The main
push of Nugget is under obligations
to Mr. Sells for a ticket to the demo
cratic national convention, nominating
Bryan at Chicago, and a situation in
the government printing office, Wash
ington City, and would like to see him
elected governor of the State of Iowa.
