SCOOPS IN A BURGLAR W. B. Poland Wakes to See his Cash Disappearing. Thomas McLennan needed money last night and the happy inspiration struck him to make a collection from some guest of tin* Coleman. By accident or design he selected V\. B. Poland, general manager of the Alaska Central, for the touch. He had just taken the cash from the pockets of Mr. Polands trousers, when the victim awoke and made a jump for his caller. McLennan tried to run for it but Mr. Poland held on and the racket wakened i Mr. Coleman, who came out to find j Poland holding his captive hy thej wrists. Marshal Wybiant was dragged j out of bed and McLennan was taken to j jail. He explained that he had just spent $8 he had earned digging in the water main ditches and mentioning his loss had been told that if he would go j into a certain room in the Coleman house he would tind a pair of trousers with pockets full of money. McLe man was hound over by < otn missione • Hildreth this afternoon to ans ver the charge of burglary in the Cnited States district court.
