In retaliation, a mob wrecked the suffragette headquarters. CALIFORNIA HAS ' BUMPER ORANGE Los Angeles, Nov. 22—A bumper oradge crop was raised this year in Southern California. POPE PUTS BAN ON THE TANGO Home, Nov. 22—The pope lias issued an edict forbidding Catholics from dancing the tango or similar dances, on the grounds that they are immoral. Mr. James R. Hayden was tendered a pleasant surprise party by a company of friends last night. He will depart for the states on the Sampson. Mr. Hayden has been suffering from rheu matism, but is much improved and is able to be about again. The steamer Jeanie will replace the steamer Admiral Sampson on the next sailing from Seattle. The Sampson will go on the dry dock for an over hauling. _ The steamer Alameda sailed from Juneau at 11 yesterday forenoon.
