-- — S. O. Morford reports that work is going along tine at the Skeen-Lechner property and that if the present weath er keeps up he will be able to cut out the steam power and turn on the water. According to advices received last night, it has been raining steadily at the mine for the past three days and the snow has gone down three feet. The wet weathar has not hampered the operations, in fact it has proven a ben efit. James R. Hayden is planning on making a trip out the line and visit ing the various mining properties in this section before returning to Seat tle which he will do in the near future. Mr. Hayden says that a man from Sew ard while in the states has a lot of questions to answer, mostly on mining conditions, and he proposes to be equip ped with first-hand knowledge in order to satisfy any questioner who may be seeking information regarding the resources of the Kenai Peninsula. F. V. Berger, representing the Peters Cartridge Company, and one of the best known wing and fancy shots in America, will give an exhibition of fancy rifle and shotgun shooting on the beach this afternoon if the weather} permits. _ - 4 H.
