DEATHS JESSE THOMAS MYRICK Litetleton — Jesse Thomas My rick, 76, of Vaughan, died at his home Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the home at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Rev. H. L. Davis, pastor of the Littleton Methodist Church. Interment was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Littleton. Mr. Myrick was the son of the late James C. and Mary Shearin Myrick of Warren County. Surviving are his wife; one son, Charlie N„ of the Navy, Jackson ville, Fla.; six daughters, Mae My rick and Mrs. F. B. Bobbitt of Vaughan, Mrs. H. L. Pope of Ma con, Nettie Myrick of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. H. B. Latta of Portsmouth, Va.; Mrs. E. D. Wilson of Wash ington, D. C.; one brother, W. A. Myrick of Weldon; three sisters, Mrs. W. C. Porter of Vaughan, Mrs. J. J. Felts of Wise and Mrs. W. B. King of Alexandria, Va., and two grandchildren. Mrs. Roderick Meikle Hostess on Wednesday Mrs. Roderick Meikle was host ess to the Wednesday Night Club at her home Wednesday evening at eight o’clock. Mixed summer flowers decorated the home throughout. Punch was served dur ing the evening. At ten-thirty scores were added and Mrs. D. E. Bennett held high score and she was presented an attractive prize. A sweet course was enjoyed at refreshment teime. Guests were: Mesdames D. E. Bennett, George Hayes, Jr., T. R. Wilson, L. B. Brown, W. D. Hall, ,C. D. Liske, Wilmer Collier-, Bea mon Helms. Tuesday Evening Club Holds Last Meeting The Tuesday Evening Club met with Mrs. M. F. White as hostess last Tuesday evening at her home on Hamilton Street at eight o'clock. The home was decorated throughout with mixed spring flowers in attractive bowls. Fields and son, Joe, of Scotland Neck, were visitors in town Tuesday. Pvt. Waverly Pearson is home for a few days furlough with his family and parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pearson. Mrs. K. D Harbour and daugh ter, Marie, spent July 4, in Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Bristow and daughter spent the week-end in Norfolk. Louie Davis Cooke of Creedmore spent the week-end with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Cooke. Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Britton and children, spent the week-end in Norfolk. Miss Viola Glover has returned from attending summer school at Greensboro W. C. U. N C. Roy Medlin arrived in town this week from overseas. He came in to New York on the Queen Eli zabeth.
