Misses Transou And Griffith Give Party Miss Ruth Transou and Miss Elizabeth Griffiths delightfully en tertained with bridge Saturday evening at their home in Patterson Apartments. During the progres sions a refreshing iced drink was served and at the conclusion of the game a sweet course was also enjoy ed. Mrs. E. W. Lehman and Mrs. E. E. Lehman assisted in serving and entertaining the guests during the evening. Summer flowers were used throughout the apartment with lovely effect. When the scores were added Mrs. Fannie Hayes was found to hold high and was presented a #rize. Mrs. George Hayes, Jr., and Mrs. Tommie Martin were also re membered with erifts. The Ernests making up the tables were: Mes dames Tommie Martin, George Hay es, Jr., Fannie fiayes, D. C. Clark, Scott Benton, John Dunn and Miss Elizabeth Clark. Mrs. Covington Is Hostess to Her Club Q Mrs. J. M. C. Covington delight fully entertained her bridge club Friday evening at her home on Jackson street. Two tables of play ers enjoyed several progressions and when the scores were added defense stamps were awarded, Mrs. Don Tillar as winner of high score. During the course of the evening a refreshing iced drink was enjoy ed, and at ten thirty a sweet course was served. Miss Emma Neal Cov ington assisted the hostess in en tertaining and serving the guests. The guests of Mrs. Covington in cluded: Mesdames John Dunn, Joh nie Martin, Scott Benton, Don Til lar, W. H. Shearin, city, boy, July 4. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Tutor, city, )girl, July 4. J. T. Babb Is Home On Leave James T. Babb, Coxswain, U. S. Navy, of this city, has returned to the states after serving almost two years in the South Pacific. Young Babb, who joined the navy in March, 1943, was assigned to an LST and has seen action on Siapan, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Okinawa and the Philippines. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
