Delicious refresh ments were served. • Bridge and Bingo Party: Mrs. -Harold C. Smith entertain ed with a party at which bridge and bingo were enjoyed, in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Austin, of Miami, Fla. Auxiliary Meets: The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Littleton Presbyterian Church met P Monday, July 9, at 4 olclock at the Church. Mrs. Robert Newsome was in charge of the program; the topic of which was "On The Beam.” It was in the form of a quiz. Dinner Party: Mr. and Mrs. Milton Stokes en tertained at a dinner party hon oring Mrs. Lula Riggan on her birthday. A pink and white cake P was the center-piece. The guests were: Mrs. Lula Shaw, Miss Velma Shaw, of Washington, D. C., Mrs. J. S. Riggan, Norfolk, Mr. Jasper Riggan, Jr., and Miss Mary Lou Riggan. To Hold. Busmess Meeting: The Fidelis Class of the Sun* day School of Littleton Baptist Church will hold its Quarterly Business Meeting and social on M Friday, July 21, at 8 o’clock in the class room. Farmer and Mrs. Lee Riggan shopped in Raleigh Thurs day. Mrs. Roy Spain has returned after spending several days in Norfolk, Va. Mrs. O. L. Currin visited in Hen derson and Kittrell. W. A. Powell spent the week end at his home. Walter Myrick spent the week end at his home. John Kright is very ill at Roa noke Rapids Hospital. Miss Mary Virginia Gilliam of Windsor, is visiting Miss Carrie Myrick. Mrs. John Ray Browning and small son, Micky, have returned after spending some time at the home of her mother in Henderson. Misses Marie Holland and Ethel Sanderson spent the week-end in the homes of their parents near Kinston. A. V. Joyner spent the week-end near Louisburg with his father, A. J. Joyner. Mrs. J. S. Riggan, Mr. Jaspei Riggan, Jr., Miss Mary Lou Rig gan ®f Norfolk, Va., have return ed home after visiting Mrs. Lula Riggan. Mr. Jasper Riggan, Sr., also spent a week with Mrs. Rig gan. Miss Anne Joyner, Jaunita Nor thington, India Bowers and Dolly Green Atkins left Monday to at tend the Girls’ Auxiliary House Party which is being held at Meredith College. Mrs. Walter Moore and two children are visiting her mother in Portsmouth, Va. Mrs. Leonard Hardin and son, of Wilmington, are visiting Mrs Alford Miller. Walter Myrick, who works in Henderson, spent the week-end at his home. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wollett vis ited in Richmond recently. Mrs. Lawrence Reese of • Washington, D. C., returned with them for a visit. — Miss Gertrude Egerton, who has a position in Wilmington, is visit ing at her home for a part of her vacation. Mrs. Edward Hunter has gone to Detroit, Mich., to visit her bro ther, Roy King. Mrs. Joseph P. Pippin has re turned from Marshall, Va., where she has been spending a couple of weeks with her daughter and son in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Townsend. Mrs. Bert Slichter and daughter, Miss Frances Slichter, who have been spending a few days with Mrs. W. H. May and Mrs. C. A. Jones, returned Saturday afternoon to their home in Norfolk, Va. Miss Elizabeth Rodwell, of War renton, came for the week-end and spent a few days with Mr and Mrs. George Threewitts. Mrs. William Nelson and small daughter, of Norfolk, who have been visiting Mrs. M. Nelson, re turned home Monday. Cadet Annie Farmer returned home Saturday after an extended tour of West Virginia and Ohio. Mr and Mrs. Lee Riggan spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Rod well Crawley at Essex. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Perry spent Sunday in Windfall, N. C. Mrs. N. E. Harrison, of Durham, is visiting Mrs. J. H. Northington. Mrs. Henry Morris is out of town on a visit. Mrs. Grey Reid, Robert and Roy Wright, of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Hal Bobbitt and Mrs. John Currell, of Norfolk, Va., are home on account of the illness of John Wright. Rudd - Tanner Mr. and Mrs. S. Thomas Tanner announce the marriage of their daughter, Lucille, to S2/c Earl Junius Rudd, son of Mrs. Nellie Rudd, on July 9. Seaman Rudd has returned to active duty, and Mrs. Rudd is making her home at 134 Hamilton Street. Cpl. and Mrs. Frederick R. Cooper, of Washington, D.
