Abridged Rules Relating to Sale of Allotted Indian Lands. (9fS THE first sale of allotted Indian Lands on this Reservation will EH take place about the first of May we have deemed it advisable for the benefit of our readers and others interested to publish below all the rules relating to the sale of allotted Indian Lands that it is necessary lor any one contemplating investing in these lands to know. What Lands May Be Sold. Subject to the rules a ad regulations here in prescribed, the following classes of lands may be sold: (1) Of the heirs, whether adults or minors, rf any deceased Indian to whom a trust or other patent containing restrictions against alienation has been issued or shall be issued on lands allotted to him. (2) Of persons deemed incompetent by the Secretary of the Interior to whom allotments have been made and patent issued containing restrictions against alienation. In general, any adult Indian to whom a patent has issued, containing res trictions against alienation will be deemed incompetent, but sales by such Indians will beaUowed only when it appears 10 be for their best interests. Method Of Making Petition For Sales. If any Indian owner described in the foregoing section desires to sell such land or a portion thereof he may petition the Commissioner of Indian affairs, r- i* -"sr/ -1-? -f
