After debate, the delegates were instructed to vote for the candidate or candidates of this county, now in the fold, as lung as there is a rea sonable hope for a nomina tion, Capt. Buchanan staved that it was understood that Copi ah county would not demand her right to participate in the nomination; therefore he:*og graded Mount Carmel as I in most central point for the three counties. Col. Rutledge insisted that as ir was not a known fact that Copiah vvo’ld not demand her right to par*, ticipate, and that as Mount Carmel had no hotel, or otli er accomodation for a conven tion, some other point more central, ought to ho suggest ed bv the meeting. There fore he suggested '.Vestvilla. Capt. Buchanan withdrew hi< suggestion, and a rising vote was taken resulting in West ville as tlie place. Capt. Hud dleston suggested the first Monday in July as the time, and as there was no other suggesiion, the Convention by a rising yote concurred. It was ordered that the West ville .News and Wesson Herald be furnished with t.lie proceedings of this meeting and other papers of the diS' trii-i be requested to copy. To' answer all piease publish my directions in your paper for Nov. 10th, 1881, and oblige, for it will save me letters of reply and savetHonsaads from the necessity of white washing every year: ‘A whitewash that \vcH last several years costs but little mure than one that will wash and rub tiffin as many mouths, as they usually do.' Take of free, burned lime a peck and slack it with hot water, add y peck of salt, disolvcd in hot w ater, 3 pounds of rice flour i' . :J dissolved i:i warm water, 1 pound of glue dissolved in, wurm water. 1 pound of Span ish white. Stir it altogether and let it stand 3 or 4 days he 1 oio»,using. Stir if well ev ery day. When used heat tn a Kettle and [>ut it on hot. A pound of yellow 'ochre will give a pleasant cream color. ?da!:e it with care and put it on hot, and my word for it, jt. will last ton times as long as ordinary wash. It lasted weli 8 years on my cook house. A wash similar to this has been long used on the public buildings in Washington.— The‘White House’ received its name from tho effects of this wash.-—Southern Herald. Squash (Mdfile Cakes.
