(Hi [COLUMN tgj It Would Be Well for Every Woman to Contribute to the Anna Howard Shaw Memorial Editor Maryland Women’s News: I should like to suggest through the Maryland Women's News that on the day that the women of Maryland cast their first ballot that each woman make a thank offering which shall be used for the Anna Howard Shaw Memorial to that great, fearless woman who did so much to bring the vote to the women of our land. Very truly yours, M. B. Moss. Let's Cut Off the Sap and Kill the Tree To the Editor of the Maryland Women’s News: Madam —l take this method to remind the thousands and thou sands of friends of Hon. Blair Lee and ex-Mayor Preston throughout the State of Maryland, as well as all others who may have become “sickened” at the overbearing and un-democratic methods of the old Democratic State crowd, that the very best way to KILL A TREE is to chop through the bark around the. body and thereby cut off the flow of sap. We will have an opportunity, in casting our ballots on November 2, to “Chop Around the Body of the Tree,” else we are likely to “Wear the Yoke” for at least six years longer. . Let’s do it, friends and fellow-sufferers, and kill that tree before it kills forever TRUE DEMOCRACY in the State of Maryland. Yours respectfully,-... A Jeffersonian Democrat.
