Charlie McArthur in a solo, this same young man in a duet with Miss Frankie Bell WAlliams, and in a quar tet: with T. J. Durrett, Sr., T. J. Dur rett, Jr., and Lloyd Solomon made ap propriate - music. All these numbers were very good. An instrumental duet—the saxophore and the violin, ~—by L. A. Parker and Joe Miller ,was another musical number of rare worth. Miss Jewell Henry talked in most interesting manner of Y. W. C. A, life at Shorter. Miss Wava Dame was impressive and highly entertaining with her talk on the musical side of c¢nllege life, Miss Lexie Dekle pre gented religious life at Bessi Tift in gplendid manner. Mrs. T. J. Durrett gave her time to the preparation of this excellent vogram for the young people. The church auditorium was well filled with people who came to take part in the services. TWO OTHERS BADLY INJURED IN DENVER FIRE Denver, Dec. 81.—One woman was killed and two others seriously injured when they leaped from the Bvd floor of =2 buring apartment house here early today. W. Culpepper, 103 rWa‘shmgton avenue, who was carried ;;ut :lxe Macon Hospital before mid ipight with a bullet wound in the pight side of his neck, which has par alyzed his body on that gide. The young man is an employe in the me chanical department of the Central of Georgia shops here. His condition was reported this morning as being v’ery gerious. Police have made no prrests. |: It was stated last night that Cul yeprer was shot about 11 o'clock at '(mntral City Park when he and the poung woman are said to have park ed gheir car in the mile track near ’the river, The young woman, a 17- year old girl, gave police a descrip tion of ulpepper's assailant, it is caid, after the shooting and efforts to locate him were begun at once. It is reported that Culpepper said that yie was olso robbed hy a negro who found him lying in the mile track ’mer he had been wounded. ‘" According to the report said to have been given by the young wom an last night and by the wounded man, the agsailant gave the girl taxi fare to the home of friends she is visiting here with instructions that aghe go there immediately. She said that she walked from the park and caught a cab uptown. At her home fast night she refused to discuss the matter. Her hostess said she had | retired. ’ Culpepper was in such condition that physicians refused to let him be interviewed this morning. Dr. A. R. Rozar said that the bullet had, it appeared, ranged into his neck and rested against the spinal column. An X-oray wil lbe made during the morn ing. It was the opinion of the phy wvician. when questioned, that the wounded man’s condition is of a very gerious nature. ‘Culpepper was brought to the; Ma ‘con Hospital after a call for the po iico ambulance at city hall had been received from an unidentified man ' who informed the operator that a man had been shot at Centray City unusual space for samples and baggage.
