BROWN ' The Third District Editors were delightfully entertained Friday at Butler, It was an ideal day for a pleéasure trip and an invitation frem Butler is always synonomouns with a good time. Charley Benns and Mrs. Benns, the host and hostess, know well how to make their friends a fine welecome and this same spirit of hos pitality and cordiality was evinced on all sides. ' The meeting was held in the at tractive little Methodist ¢church which was decorated with yellow daisies and green ferns. A supply of delicious punch and ice water had been pro vided for otur comfort and quite o number of the Butler peosple had as sembled to show their aprreciation and to give us a welcome. Quite a delightful program was 'then put on, consisting of songs, ' duets, instrumental solos and ad ldresses followed by a 2w important Lusiness matters. John Howell, W. T. !Anderson and others were the speak iors. The same officers were elected ' for the coming year and an invita ltion from Americus was accepted for the next meeting. The officers are: Miss Emily Wood ward, president; C. E. Benns, vice president; Isador Gelders, secretary and treasurer, A delicious luncheon was then en joyed at the new Adams Hotel, This was indeed a dainty repast which ‘was enlivened by a humoroug debaie W. T. Anderson, Mrs. John M. Anglin, John Howell, Miss Emily ;\'\"o')(l'.var(l, Miss Susan Myrick and others. A prize of a crate of peaches was presented to the winner. Miss Myrick was acknowledged the %test debater and the peaches went to her. At the close of the luncheon, each guest was presented with dainty lit tle baskets of candy, filled with candy, a gift from the Butler Candy Cormpany. The Butler Peach Company Wwas very generous with their peaches Kaeh family represented received » market basket of rerfect speci mens., Butler is well known as one of the finest peach districts, not only of Georgia, but of the south, During the luncheon, Miss Susan Myrick rendered two very humorous readings which were thoroughly en joyed. Mr. Anderson also made & wmoest interesting talk concerning the Ceorgin exodus to Florida. ! The lasteourstesy of the day was :xtended to the visitors by Dr. Porter at the drug store where re freshing drinks were gerved to all the guests.
