President Alessandri has resigned,
ifacing the presidency in the hands
of Louis Barriss Borgino.
A Santiago dispatch yesterday said
the cabinet had resigned in order to
guarantee a free presidential elec
tion to be held Octoher 24. A sandi
date, Colonel Carlos Ibanez, the war
minister, was declared 1o have

president in July 1920 polling 150
electoral vetes against 175 for Senor
Barros Borgono, the man 15 whom he
now ‘has turned over the office.

tations as to yield as the crop was
estimated at 50,000,000 jounds, the
difference bveing in the average priee
of 20 cents for 1924 and 14.40 cents
for 1925. The fall-off in averaze
price for this year being duz, agri
culturist say, to the number of new
and inexperienced growers and to the
drcuth. l
