A few words upon this subject may be of use to our industrious and enter prising farmers. How to make mon ey is the question most interesting to us all, and to nono more so than to the former. Here then is a way to do it not in a large way as many would de sire, perhaps, but in a very sxire way. Nearly every farmer desires to break from 25 to 100 acres the coming sea son. Now, our plan is, break early and sow flax Beed upon the breaking good, clean flax seed. Be sure there is no foul seed, especially wild must ard seed which, if once sown, you can never get rid of. Sow all you can break before the 10th of June—flax will do well any time before this date —and our word for it, you can make from $5 to £10 per acre. Besides this, it rots the sod and puts your land in a better condition for wheat the fol lowing year after yielding from three to six bushels more to the acre than land which was not cropped. Flax can be sown with a seeder, cut with a self binder and threshed with a thresher the same as wheat and oats. The Vibrator and Minnesota Chief threshers do the best work, however. We would advise every farmer that intends to do breaking to secure the Large Russian Flax seed of the Min nesota Linseed Oil Co.. Minneapolis. Their seed is pure and clean and they offer liberal inducements. VlttYOits ticle in T— BIG STONE CITY, DAK., FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 1883. NO. 33 Wilmot, March 30,1882. HERALD.— I notice The Largs an ar the Wilmot Journal entitled "Spies Spotted" and starting off in a biblical style of language, undoubted ly with the idea that the readers of the Journal would, perhaps, be con vinced by so doing that the writer of that article was inspired froinon high, with intuitive knowledge of the mo tives and designs of anybody and everybody he may chance to meet. Who is this would be "smart A'ec!" What is his business Is he a self constituted carrion scavenger? and being unable to obtain tainted flesh enough to satisfy his insatiable appe tite resorts to preying upon untainted portions. He evidently thinks that his article is carefully and artfully worded, that people can no more than surmise who the parties referred to are. Does he think the readers of the Journal are so destitute of good horse sense as he is himself? and not able to d«tect the thrusts of a backbiter al though an attempt is made to hide be hind his own words, he not having tnanlr courage enough to face the mu sic. We certainly hope that the people of Wilmot will not uphold any of fter citiens in casting reflections upon any of the many visitors to our village, and if any of her citizens are mer ely so rotten that they have lost all eense of decency and good manners, she will as soon as possible take steps to rid the public of all such putrid matter.
