The seductive attractions of news
paper work has lured our friend and
former partner Ilenry Neill, back into
the old newspaper harness, this
time in Milbank, where he takes
control of the Index office, which has
recently been purchased by a stock
company from Col. 1). M. Evans. We
believe there is room for a good, live
Republican newspaper in Milbank,

One of the institutions of which
our city may feel proud is the Big
Stone City Mill, which is fast gaining
a more than local reputation for the
high quality of its dour. The mill
has been under its present manage
ment for not much over a year and in
that short time has built up a busi
ness and created a demand for the pro
duct of their mill that taxes their
utmost effort to supply. They have
recently made important improve
ments in the mill, among which is
a new Mnch Flanniken Turbine
wheel and a 30-inch iron tube l'or
penstock, which with improvements
on tlie tunnel and a new flume, Jus
added fully fifty per cent to the water
power. The mill is now in line shape
to run steadily and economically and
the prime quality of the Hour which
it turns out will keep it in constant
motion, it has secured a reputation
with the farmers for fair dealing
with them that attracts them from
long distances and alwa)'s sends them
away satislied.
