LAKE CITY, Minn., July 14.—The wreck of the Sea Wing has been search ed and a number of bodies recovered. The total number of bodies found now number sixty-five. It is not know n just how many passengers were on the ••raft but the number jifi as first reported is not far from correct. Sixty-five have been rescued and there are between sixty and seventy yet missing and the assurance is almost certain that they are at the bottom of the lake. This runs the death roll up to about 120, making it the worst disasters in the annals of the state. The damage in the town is light, the fury of the storm having been ex pended on the lake. Most of the vic tims came from Red Wing, to which piaee the bodies have been taken. The work of rescuing has been carried on by the First Regiment of the Minneso ta militia. As soon as word reached the camp volunt -ers were called, and every one volunteered to assist in rescuing the living or searching for the dead. Adjt. (Ion, Mullen immediately took charge of the regiment, and the search was syst iiia'i'ally begun and carried on. ST. PAI I„ .I iilv 14.—'From daybreak yesterday morning until darkness set in the work of searching for the missing h'.idiesof Mrs. J. H. Schi.nueier.l harlc* Schurmei'-r, and the Rev. M. Pfaelte was vigorously prosecuted. The mounds of rubbish on the shore were turned over, and the search carried into the shattered woods around. The steam barge on Gervais' lake, assisted by a fleet of boats manned by ml ling hands, was actively engaged in dragging the lake and disintegrating the masses of wreckage winch lined i lie shore*, but at nightfall no trace of the missing bodies tiad been found either in the water or on land. Thc first statement of death was cor rect. vi/. five. Six are seriously in jured and ",'1 slightly hurt. The fury of the cyclone was not. however, spe nt entirely on Lake Gervais and its lovely shores. A farmer nam"d Goetcka, liv ing on the Kohlmau side (f the work, had his homestead destroyed. There were twenlv people in the house and only one woman was injured. The farmers of New Canada are in a serious plight. Four of them have not ortiv had a narrow escape of their lives, but they have lost everything in the world they possessed their houses, their fur niture and their crops.
