the officers of the First South Da
kota regiment at San Francisco,
Lt-Col. Stover, Maj. Warne and
Lieut. Bates, the officers placed
under arrest by order of Col. Frost
charged with writing, and insti

superior, haviiig made written,
apologies have been released from
arrest by order of Gen. Shafter.
The South Dakota regiment is
