That I have not now nor never did have any grudge against llickey but have always been on friendly terms with him. Their reasons for charging me with the above offense are extremely silly and could only have originated In minds badly clouded with "budge." It was noticed that nearly all of them carried clubs about three feet long. At 2 o'clock they heard a load noise at the entrance of the county jail and in a few minutes more the crowd rushed down Superior street towards Seventh street bridge. It was soon learned that the mob had liberated Martin and were dragging him by the neck through the streets. At Seventh street bridge the rope was thrown- over the truss on the northeast corner ff the bridge and Martin strung up. Here again the crowd gave a great yell and immediately dispersed. Sheriff Mann arrived and cut the body down, but life was extinct. The coroner was at once notified, who took the remains to Thompson's undertaking rooms. GENERAL NEWS.
