At the MetropoltUn M K Church the
balloting was Very exciting, ttiouch the
vote was light, only 100 votes being cast
out of ii membership of 600 M for and
511 against the amendment.
At Ft tindry Church the polls were
p nrd at -t o'clock, ntvd cloed alraut
10. During that time but 117 votes were
cnM 02 for and 55 ngnlnst.
At Watigh Church the ladles carried
the day, 30 members voting for the
amendment and Si against it.
The same light vote was noticeable
at every church, the lowest being that
of the Twelfth street church, where five
members cast their lullots for admts
slon ami two nenlnst it. The fact that
so few members voted Is expected to
have n groat deal of weight when the
subject Is brought up In general con
ference. A prominent pastor said last evening;
that it was doubtful If tho matter would
ever be brought up before the confer
ence If the same lack of Interest Is
manifested throughout the whole Juris
diction of the church.
The one thing that surprised the
Indies who supported the amendment
was thnt many of their own sex voted
agalntt the proposition.
