Ui Beaumont, former pioneer merchant
E trader at Fort \ukon, has sued W. E.
= Phillips for $13,000 for alienation of
5 his wife’s affections. Beaumont is al
r so suing Mrs. Phillips to recover title
E to his trading post at Fort Yukon
2 and certain sums of money which he
E claims wre stolen from his safe by
= her and Phillips while Beaumont was
E outside on business.
Beaumont was one of the pioneer
n merchants of interior Alaska and was
2 married two years ago. W hen he
— started north he left Mrs. Beaumont
2 behind to come after the opening of
— navigation. He mixed up with two
5 girls on the boat and was arrested and
— convicted of white slavery. After
E serving 18 months he returned to Al
E aska to find that his wife had secured
E a divorce and married Phillips.
